Mr. Tafara Matekaire

Tafara Matekaire hails from the academia as a researcher and University lecturer for over a decade accomplished Scientist and Technologist with extensive practical domain knowledge and experience spanning over two decades. He is an effective collaborator, transformative leader and builder of high performance teams, qualities that have earned him respect and acclaim in organisations that he has served in different leadership capacities such as the Scientific and Industrial Research & Development (SIRDC) as General Manager, The Office of the President and Cabinet as Chief Director for Science, Technology & Innovation and currently as the Permanent Secretary for e-Government Technology in the Office of the President and Cabinet. In his current portfolio as Head of e-Government, he oversees and coordinates the digital transformation program for the Government of Zimbabwe. Furthermore, he Chairs the Digital Economy Priority Area which drives the accelerated national development and use of ICTs for sustainable socio-economic transformation.
