WebSafe Samoa

As Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are embracing digital transformation, cybersecurity is gaining more attention as a critical element for their digital growth and economic resilience. In the Pacific, various initiatives have been underway to integrating cyber resilience into sustainable development through national cross-sectoral partnerships and regional collaboration. The journey of Pacific nations to becoming cyber-resilient Small Island Digital States requires a systematic whole-of-society and whole-of-region approach that promotes cyber capacity building cooperation and partnerships at all levels.
  • What success stories and practical solutions from recent initiatives in Samoa, Tonga, and the Cook Islands can offer scalable options for strengthening and mainstreaming cybersecurity across the Pacific – as well as in other SIDS regions?
  • How can Pacific Islands overcome key challenges in their path to sustainable, inclusive and cyber resilient digital transformation? What should be the main priorities and partnerships to supporting the region’s collective cyber resilience?
