With over twenty-five years of experience, Jayantha Fernando is a veteran Technology and Digital Law expert from South Asia. Equipped with extensive techno-legal expertise, Jayantha heads the Heritage Partners practice in Digital Banking, Privacy, Cyber Security, Cybercrime, Electronic Evidence, Intellectual Property, Internet Governance and Regulation. During his 20 years in public sector, Fernando led Sri Lanka’s entry into the Budapest Cybercrime Convention, represented the country at the T-CY and became the first in South Asia to be elected to its nine-member global bureau. He was Chairman of both Sri Lanka CERT, LK Domain Registry and Co-Chair of the Virtual Currency Task Force of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He led drafting of all Digital Laws in Sri Lanka and remains a Director of CERT and now as a Director of Data Protection Authority.
