Mattia Caniglia is a Senior Intelligence and Policy Analyst at the Global Disinformation Index and Co-Chair of the FIMI-ISAC. He is also Affiliate Lecturer at the University of Glasgow with the International Master’s in Security, Intelligence and Strategic Studies (IMSISS), where he regularly delivers lectures on countering violent extremism and international security.
He previously worked as an Associate Director at the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab where he coordinated global training and capacity-building activities on open-source intelligence techniques, disinformation, and digital resilience and conducted research on disinformation and information warfare in Europe and Africa. An expert in Hybrid Warfare and OSINT, he has conducted high profile research and analysis activities on disinformation, terrorism and counterterrorism, international security and geopolitical issues. He has a geographical focus on Europe, the Mediterranean, the Sahel and Sub-Saharan Africa.
