Mariama S. Yormah is the inaugural National Cybersecurity Coordinator of Sierra Leone and leads the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NC3), a statutory institution under the Ministry of Communications, Technology and Innovation established under the Cybersecurity and Crime Act of 2021. She has spearheaded the country’s cybersecurity transformation from inception, developing its foundational legal, policy, and institutional frameworks.
Under her leadership, Sierra Leone has operationalized its first national CSIRT, established a digital forensic lab, and is advancing efforts to identify and protect critical national information systems. Mrs. Yormah has led major national initiatives focused on enhancing law enforcement agencies’ investigative and prosecutorial capabilities, capacity building, inter-agency coordination, and international cooperation. Her strategic leadership continues to position Sierra Leone as an emerging contributor to global cybersecurity dialogue, with growing resilience and preparedness against cyber threats.
