Alex is the Executive Director of eQualitie, where he leads strategic initiatives to advance digital rights, build digital security capacity, and develop open-source technologies for secure, censorship-resistant communications. He oversees global programs supporting civil society, independent media, and at-risk communities with tools, training, and infrastructure for digital resilience.
With over 20 years of international experience, Alex previously launched Amazon’s Public Sector Innovation Studio and served as a senior advisor for technology and privacy at the White House. He is also a founder of sustainable agriculture ventures and holds degrees from UC Berkeley (JD), Oxford (MBA), and Yale (MS in Sustainable Engineering).
