Ms. Agi Veres is the Director of the UNDP Office in Geneva, where she leads UNDP’s external relations, advocacy, and Geneva-based policy and program work. Prior to this role, she served as Deputy Assistant Administrator and Deputy Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia (2019–2021), overseeing UNDP’s regional operations in 19 country offices. From 2015 to 2019, she was posted in China as UNDP Resident Representative and Country Director, leading development cooperation and global engagement efforts. She previously held leadership positions in Lesotho, the Regional Centre in Bratislava, and led corporate reporting and communications in UNDP Headquarters in New York.
Ms. Veres began her career in the private sector as a Management Consultant at Accenture in New York and Hungary, focusing on organizational change. A native of Hungary, she holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences (Corvinus University).
