Quad 9, CPI/GCA, Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre (GCSCC), Cyber 4.0

Spotlight #1: Quad 9- In Public Interest: why neutral, private DNS Matters

Spotlight #2: CPI- Strengthening NGO Capabilities: Common Good Cyber and Beyond125

Description:

Aligned with the Accra Call on Cyber Resilient Development, the B125 Initiative is dedicated to safeguarding nonprofit organizations that drive social good, ensuring they have the cybersecurity resilience needed to continue their vital work. Just as the Hague Peace Convention redefined how peace and justice could be designed 125 years ago, today, B125, in collaboration with Common Good Cyber, is reshaping how we protect those who serve the common good in cyberspace.
As cyberspace becomes the new battleground, nonprofits tackling hunger, poverty, education, refugee support, clean water access, humanitarian aid, healthcare, gender-based violence, and climate change face relentless cyberattacks and disinformation campaigns. Yet, they remain underserved of cybersecurity, unable to access the necessary expertise, tools, and financial resources to defend themselves. This must change.
In alignment with the Accra Call’s focus on public-private partnerships (Action 6), cybersecurity capacity-building (Actions 5, 7), and information sharing (Action 9), the B125 Initiative and Common Good Cyber are mobilizing cross-sector collaboration to equip nonprofits with the talent, tools, and security frameworks needed to stay resilient. By strengthening cybersecurity for these critical organizations, we protect not only their missions but also the communities they serve worldwide, reinforcing a safer and more just digital world for all.

Objectives:

The showcase session will focus on how civil society organizations—especially those working on human rights, democracy, and vulnerable communities—are increasingly targeted by cyberattacks, disinformation, and digital threats, often while facing severe financial constraints. The panel will explore strategies for intelligence-sharing, data-driven threat analysis, and strengthening protections for civil society organizations despite growing challenges.
Furthermore, the session aims to showcase the Common Good Cyber global initiative which is focused on sustaining those involved in critical cybersecurity functions for the broader Internet community. It brings together civil society, government, industry, and academia to support organizations and individuals who ensure Internet security.

Spotlight #5: Cyber 4.0- Advancing Cyber Resilience Through Public-Private Partnerships

In today’s complex and rapidly evolving digital landscape, public-private partnerships are essential to building sustainable and impactful cyber resilience strategies. This session will explore how joint efforts between government institutions and the private sector can drive progress in international cyber capacity building—combining strategic policy vision with technical innovation, local engagement, and operational expertise. The session will also highlight the role of Cyber 4.0, Italy’s national cybersecurity competence center promoted by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, as a key enabler of these efforts. By connecting public institutions, academia, and industry, Cyber 4.0 exemplifies how national centers can serve as international catalysts for cyber capacity building and cross-border cooperation.
