Komal Bazaz Smith is Chief Business Officer at GCA. She grows GCA’s footprint leveraging its significant intellectual capital and solutions to sustain a trustworthy Internet that enables progress for all. She also leads our Ecosystem Engagement work including Common Good Cyber, a global initiative to drive collective action to sustain cybersecurity nonprofits securing the Internet. She has spent 24 years leading strategic projects for DAI, R4D, Arabella Philanthropic Advisors, Booz Allen, Accenture. She co-founded the Kashmiri Institute, supporting her displaced diaspora community.
As Project Director of the USAID Digital Connectivity & Cybersecurity Partnership, Komal grew the nascent USG-program from scratch into a $25m suite of 55 discrete initiatives, engaging 600 stakeholders in 20 countries. In each role, she addresses complex problems by driving disparate stakeholders towards innovative solutions and collective action. Ms. Bazaz Smith holds an M.Sc. from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and a B.A. from Duke University.
